Jenna Bush Leaked on the
Internet
Jan 30 (The New York Times) - -the jenna bush- (a side
project from Turgid Nipples members Rob Bertrand and Amit Saha) has apparently
completed recording demos of material for their first CD. And
already songs have been leaked on the Internet.
Fans of the TurNips have been scouring the 'net for these
hard to find musical nuggets. Two songs have turned up through searches on
Kazaa, with fans assigning them the names "Liberace's Pain" and "Hans Blix's
WMD" until the real titles are revealed by the band's notoriously tightlipped management team.
While the
leaked demo material only hints at the genius that is to follow, one thing is
certain: -the jenna bush- isn't holding anything back.
"Liberace's Pain" is a somber look
at the give and take, trust and pain issues inherent in relationships. In a move
that has sent shockwaves through their fanbase, the song marks a departure from
standard TurNips style, with its tendersweet piano and deeply personal
lyrics of loves lost (or is that love's loss?).
"Hans Blix's WMD", on the other hand, is a scathing
indictment of the current situation in Iraq. Raging guitars and vocals dominate
the bleak landscape painted by the tortured Bertrand. A sonic tour de farce, no doubt.
Calls to the band were
met with messages that their phone lines had been disconnected due to
non-payment. Perhaps all their money, as well as energy, has gone into
the making of this work of genius.
